The whole "inevitable/anointed" nominee thing pisses me off to no end. I don't fault people for supporting anybody, but that, above all other things, has always made me want to hit these people in the head with a hammer.

Gross.  As if the inflated expectations for Obama (which you deride) weren't evidence enough.  Clinton is, in all likelihood, only going to be able to accomplish about as much as Obama unless the composition of the Congress drastically changes.

The funny thing is that "Hillary is inevitable" in 2008 wasn't actually much of a thing, and was instead a retrospective media narrative because a "David vs. Goliath" story sounds more interesting than "Guy in a strong second place defeats frontrunner".
