Cleveland is seeking a rematch after narrow losing to Benjamin Harrison, whose administration ushered in an era of reckless government spending and inflation.

Seeing as Harrison destroyed the economy and IRL Cleveland made things worse, I'll go with Weaver.

Well, he'd probably at least have lots of pictures taken.

Former President Grover Cleveland / Former Postmaster Adlai Stevenson 66.4% 402
President Benjamin Harrison / Diplomat Whitelaw Reid 30.0% 42

Despite Cleveland's national landslide, the incumbent President was still able to sweep most of the Western states, thanks to the strong performance of bimetallist candidate James Weaver.

That map makes no sense whatsoever. Vermont and Maine would never vote for Cleveland even in that landslide, and Weaver would certainly win states out west.

Obviously Cleveland was not going to obtain any votes out West, and there is an upper limit to how many additional votes he can get in the South, so that resulted in an unusually large swing in the Northeast and Midwest. As for Weaver, his performance in those regions was middling at best (even less than previous Greenback nominees), which meant that a halfing of his IRL performance would imply a particularly nasty swing in the Western states in which he dominated.

What kind of fuzzy math did you use for this map? Weaver won states IRL and with his performance here, I fail to see how he couldn't win states at all. Explain your math!

As I pointed out earlier, giving Weaver the 3.7% of the vote he merits requires a disproportionate swing in the Western states. Thus, I uniformly gave Weaver roughly half of his votes that he received IRL. Weaver did not win any states when he earned 3% IRL 1880, so I fail to see how one could have Weaver match his IRL 1892 performance with 3% of the vote, unless you give him negative votes in the Northeast and Midwest.
