It looks like a pretty generic blowout map. Nothing jumps out to me as a county I'd expect to swing but didn't or vice versa.

The most 'vulnerable' Republican in Ohio won by 13 points. Ohio Dems got to be really disappointed this cycle.

Now that I look at this again, how did Kasich lose Monroe county while Mandel won it?

Oddly enough, Jon Husted and Josh Mandel, typically considered to be the two most vulnerable or controversial incumbents, both won Monroe County, while the "safer" incumbents -- Kasich/Taylor, DeWine, and Yost -- lost it.

The county has very high unemployment (as does most of the Ohio coal country), and it's home to the former Ormet manufacturing plant which filed for bankruptcy recently, and Kasich did nothing, not even a visit, to help those thousands of laid-off workers who relied on that job for a living.

As for DeWine and Yost losing it and Husted and Mandel winning it, I honestly have no idea. The way the ballot was laid out is the AG and Auditor races were right below Kasich on the ballot, while SoS and Treasurer were farther down-ballot, so maybe that had something to do with it.
