Foods that people like but you can't stand

• Ratatouille (this is basically the culinary equivalent of electricity and water for me).
• Beetroot, except grated onto a salad or in a burger.
• Avocado on its own, I do like it on a sandwich, in a salad, and as a part of guacamole though.
• Shrimp/prawns, except on pizza, or curried king prawns.
• Scallops (make me gag)

I do love a lot of food though (I like the likes of liver, phall curry and black pudding, for example), and do enjoy the vast majority of fruit and vegetables, so I'm hardly a picky eater.

Do people even really eat avocado outside those contexts anyway?

I love avocado, and yes, I'm someone that eats it plain (though preferably with other foods). Other members of my family also eat it plain, to the point where we might actually fight for it. I highly recommend it on a burger.

I'm not too fond of avocado on toast either - even with an egg, starts to make me gag.
