Wow, Mitt Romney flip-flopping now on whether or not to run for President? How shocking. Roll Eyes

hey remember how good Romney was in 2012? Said No-one

So many issues with him-the GOP didn't even want him in 2012-they tried to get Christie/Bush to enter.

This is just the same as the 'Re-elect Gore movement in 2004' or 'Kerry 2008' or heck 'Gore 2008'. People love the idea of comeback candidates because you know more about them

Yeah, I've always seen "Romney 2016" as similar to "Kerry 2008". It wouldn't surprise me if Romney bowed out just like Kerry did too.

Romney's end margin deficit is going to increase if he runs in 2016.

Clinton is going to talk about the 2012 debates, where he talked about how his presidency would accomplish economic goals that Obama already accomplished.

I really, really want Romney to run, it will put Clinton squarely in the W.H.  I guess that the G O P hasn't learned its lesson from 2012, that with an economic rebound, no matter who you nominate, they are gonna fall short of winning the presidency.

I'm still skeptical that he'll actually run unless Bush and/or Christie flop hard. I think he's just trying to leave an opening for him if such a scenario happens.

That will be an exercise in total ennui. Pity Portman isn't in play.

that sounds like a good description of what the 2016 campaign as a whole is shaping up to be.

Anyone think Romney would accept the VP spot? Not that he'd get the offer or that it would be a remotely good idea...
I could see him as a portfolio VP.

He's someone voters would be familiar with, avoiding some of the problems with introducing a candidate for national office.

It's kinda cute how Romney the Robot thinks he'll have it better this time around.
That's funny...but seriously what does Romney have to offer that's new in 2016 that he didn't offer in 2012 and 2008? In my opinion though he doesn't have a shot in CO and NV in 2016 either in the general election because of his self-deportation comments in 2012. He is damaged goods with the Hispanic Vote in my opinion.

I have to add Romney ran a bad campaign(maybe not the worst though) in 2012. I mean bad messaging, lousy GOTV operations  and not a vision in terms of select policy proposals for the future of the country cost him the election. He just ran against Obama's record and it didn't work.

He is a self made millionaire, with a business background, while he claims that Clinton or Obama haven't ran a business before.  While the Bushes put us in the wilderness in terms of the economy.  He will repeat that mantra, over and over again, which gives him optimism in terms of winning the primary, not the general, in my opinion.

TBH, that's what 2012 was. Most boring campaign since 1996.

Really? On the Dem side, yes, but the Republican primary was fantastic. (I'm trying not to be smug about it, God knows Democrats have had enough clown car primaries in my lifetime and will have them again.)

I know that the polls rank Romney highly but I only know of one person who would be excited about that, and he's the type of person who will probably get too drunk to remember that there's an election the time the primary rolls around.

Well the "1972 Dem Primary for President" was a clown car primary no doubt from what I have read about it. Wasn't 2004 as well? I mean Wesley Clark and Dean's candidacy went up in flames. Gephardt shouldn't even have ran probably. He was probably a little probably his past his peak politically since he retired from the US House a little after the 2002 Mid-term Elections.
