Attorney General Jack Conway, her biggest opponent, has already declared his candidacy.

Till when does she have to commit herself?

Don't think she will, but she'd be better than (ugh) Conway.

Nope, she needs some time to recover from the drubbing first. But I do hope she runs for something else in the future.

Yes, she should run for something soon before she becomes yesterday's news.

Conway and Grimes are already embarrassing for the Kentucky Democrats. A brutal primary between the two will only increase Governor-elect Comer's margin anyway.

Because Conway loves power and the Democratic Party is still very powerful in Kentucky. It also seems to be more economically populist, which Conway has been in the past. He also didn't appeal the gay marriage decision in Kentucky.

No. She should wait for Senate 2016. Presidential turnout can only help her, and it might be an open seat.

She's probably unelectable in Kentucky for the next couple of years after running one of the worst campaigns of the cycle, Conway is probably their best bet, at least for 2015

Adam Edelen would be our best bet, but he bowed out for freakin Conway.

Why are we talking about her? She's a walking disaster.

Conway didn't run the best campaign in 2010 but he'd probably the best bet for dems in 2015.

If Grimes was a disaster in 2014, and she was, so was Conway.

Yeah, they both got blown out of the water in races that were supposed to be competitive, and both had a major screw up (Aqua Buddha/"Who did you vote for?"). I don't see what makes Conway so much better of a candidate.

Remember, Conway did destroy the heavily hyped Todd P'Pool in 2011 - a year after the Aqua Buddha story.

Beshear also won by nearly 20.

According to the Cinci Enquirer, Grimes will be running for statewide office this year "from governor to attorney general, to secretary of state." She has until Jan. 27th to pick which office she's running for.

Obviously, she needs to run for re-election if anything. There was a recent poll done that shows 1 in 2 Kentuckians doesn't want Grimes to run for Governor, and it's already been stated that she can't beat Conway in a primary.

Steve Beshear's son has already been anointed as the Democratic successor to Conway as Attorney General, so that's another obvious no no.

Edelen's running for Auditor again, and Democrats already seem to have candidates for Treasurer and Agriculture Commissioner, but not SoS.

Hopefully Grimes does what's best for her party. Brunner in Ohio did something similar to what Grimes is considering back in 2010 by going against the party's wishes and running for higher office instead of re-election, and it ultimately contributed to costing our party control of the SoS office.

If he loses the [presidential] primary, can he still run for the senate seat?

If he drops out of the presidential primary before KY's 2016 partisan filing deadline, yes. Not sure what date that is.

I remember it being early last year, one of the first ones in January. The primary for the Senate seat is in May, so it'll probably be early again. That looks pretty problematic for him.
