It was Lowell Weicker the Republican vs. Joe Lieberman the Democrat. I'd vote for Weicker.

RINOs are generally better than Democrats, but not in this case.

They both suck, I'd probably write in a candidate.

My father voted for Lieberman in this race and he hates Lieberman but feels he was the lesser of two evils(this coming from a staunch republican). What was Weicker like?

I don't know enough about Weicker to vote in the poll.  HTMLDon, your answers to these types of polls seem to be motivated by partisanship more than anything else.

I wouldn't think twice. I'd vote for Weicker in a hearbeat.

Is there a page or does anyone have some information on Weicker?  I still haven't voted.

I would have voted for Lieberman if I had lived in Connecticut in 1988.  And I did vote for George Bush that year.  That, incidentally, is how Connecticut actually voted in 1988.

Weicker was absolutely awful.  He was elected governor in 1990 in a 3-party race and he was so unpopular that he didn't even try for re-election in 1994.  His main "accomplishment" was the establishment of an income tax in Connecticut, but he's basically an elitist liberal blowhard.

I'd probably vote for Weicker, unless the Senate was expected to be 50-50 or 51-49.
