I suppose partly, since most Hispanics are a mixture of indigenous Americans and the Spanish/Portuguese. My family has done most of our family history, and most of our immediate ancestors (in the last few hundred years) come from the Mexican state of Zacatecas. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zacatecas#Demographics I've read that this particular state currently has "the smallest indigenous population percentage-wise in Mexico: 0.3%." So that might account for my melatonin deficiency.

But then again there are a wide range of skin tones with Hispanics. I've met authentically blond and red haired Hispanics. And there's that one friend I have who looks completely Hispanic but he's half white and half Japanese. But it doesn't really matter, in a few hundred years we're all going to end up looking like Brazilians anyway Smiley
