I'm filing a lawsuit against Speaker bore.
By a vote of 6-0-1 this amendment has passed the senate and is sent to the regions for ratification

Aye: Bore, Cranberry, TNF, Lief, Cris, Windjammer,

Abstain: Yankee

Not Voting: Polnut, Bacon King, SWE
Speaker bore certified this constitutional as having passed the senate. However, according to the constitution (Article VII Section 1 clause 1):

Right now, there are 10 senators, so it needed 7 Ayes in order to pass. It didn't (only 6), that's why I believe Speaker bore was wrong when he certified this amendment passed the senator, because it failed.

Best regards,
Senator Windjammer

Have you contacted the Speaker about this? Unless he were to contest your interpretation this doesn't seem like a matter best resolved by the Court.

Tongue

Just to be clear, I don't reproach Bore anything, I believe he's doing a good job as Speaker, I just believe his interpretation on this matter is wrong. I understand that this is a matter that can be interpreted by different ways and I will respect the decision of the court whatever it is.

I would appreciate that this could have been handled in a better fashion. Namely, contacting Senator Bore directly, rather than running to the Court.

I think I have a solution.

As speaker I have these powers:

Notice how Article V the section on voting can be suspended or adapted.

So can I not just declare that the Bacon King's vote is valid?

I can too confirm that Sentaors bore and Windjammer did talk about this yesterday in the IRC, and they agreed that the Supreme Court should best clear this.

Yeah, can confirm that windjammer said if I didn't withdraw he'd sue, and I said that this issue is sufficiently murky to be worth throwing to the supreme court.

Official Atlasia Supreme Court Release
Nyman, DC

Notice of Dismissal

After consideration of the petitioner's arguments, the Supreme Court of Atlasia has declined to grant certiorari to hear the question of whether the passage of a constitutional amendment with six votes in favour was in violation of the Constitution of Atlasia.

We see no reason that this matter cannot be addressed internally, as outlined by the Speaker, and the Court would prefer that questions of Senate procedure be handled internally unless there is a clear and compelling wider public interest and a clear conflict relating to the constitutional particulars. In this instance, we see no compelling reason for the Court to intervene as opposed to a resolution to the issue enacted under the auspices of the office of Speaker.

The case is dismissed.
