It never happens as he delays the Bay of Pigs to train Cubans to provide the needed air support for the mission.  Castro is overthrown, the Soviets are apoplectic and Cuba never sees a Soviet missile.

Since the what-ifs base themselves on false premises to begin with, there's no need to point out how wrong you are.

I think if he were elected in 1960, he'd be much better than he was in 1968.  He'd be more of a man of the times, and wouldn't have to deal with the counterculture (as much)
