Who among the "known" politicians (probably at least in the House or a Lt. Governor) today will be the last among them to become President and approximately when?

Let's go back and see what the answer would have been historically:
1934-1937 Truman (took office 8-11 years later)
1937-1948 Johnson (took office 15-26 years later)
1948-1966 Ford (took office 8-26 years later)
1966-1978 Bush (elected 10-20 years later)
1978-1992 Clinton (elected 0-14 years later)

So based on historical trends, the best bet would be a congressman in his late thirties to late fourties who would make a plausible VP nominee 2-6 election cycles from the present. Paul Ryan fits that hypothetical description to a tee.

George P Bush seems to have the best chance of getting elected President twenty years down the line. He has a lot of connections, but he has to serve in traditional statewide office first.

Paul Ryan, Tom Cotton and Cory Gardner are also plausible.

I think it'll be a Republican rather than a Democrat as Democrats prefer selecting newer figures for national office. Seth Moulton, Jared Polis, or Joaquin Castro do have the right profile.
