What is the story here?  No term limits?  JFK somehow loses the election in 64 and pulls a Cleveland in 68?

I think that Bobby Kennedy is the Democratic nomination in this scenario.

This was my old account which I accidentally got locked out of. I should have been clearer, I meant RFK-Nixon.

Why do we assume California votes for RFK? Kennedy lost there in 1960.

Why do we assume California votes for RFK? Kennedy lost there in 1960.

Because, that's where he started to launch his presidential campaign, in CA, and it barely went to Nixon in 1968.

Regardless, that's why I said NJ, RF could have won without CA, but won WI, and NJ.

Here's a map without TX or CA, which RF would of had to assimulate.  He would of had to go after NV or NM as well as DEL. Similar to John.

Barely, and only by absentee votes that came weeks later. Go back to election night and JFK humiliated Tricky Dick on his home turf.

RFK outreached to minorities better than JFK and probably would've campaigned harder there.

No, California would've had every county Humphrey took, plus completely united Bay Area and San Francisco and Alameda voting far through the roof against Nixon.
