A funny thing happened on the way to the general election...

The Democratic nomination was deadlocked for several ballots between Speaker Clark and Majority Leader Underwood. Finally, delegates pledged to Governor Harmon broke the tie in favor of Underwood, with Clark's delegates eventually ceding the race. The convention drafted Governor Thomas Marshall of Indiana as his running mate.

The Republican nomination became a gruesome battle between progressive icons Roosevelt and LaFollette, with LaFollette eventually prevailing. Roosevelt, accusing LaFollette of making a corrupt bargain with conservative forces in the party, left the party in favor of a third-party bid. While Roosevelt's critics sense that his candidacy of motivated more by personal animosity and egotism than actual policy differences, Roosevelt has made a robust foreign policy a central part of his platform, noting his opposition to the "isolationism" of Parker.

With all three candidates running on progressive platforms to some extent, the personalities of the candidates have taken center stage.

Underwood/Marshall

I like all the candidates here, but I really like Marshall (and given Johnson's record...that's saying a lot), and I'd rather absolute progressive reform without TR's bloated ego.

I'm going with Underwood because of Marshall, but I would be happy with any of the three major party candidates.
