The ban on factions is a stupid cutoff point because most of the factional fighting happened after it.

Anyway, most were political idiots, absolute fanatics or complete sociopaths (Trotsky managed to be all three). I'll go with someone who was none of those things: Grigori Sokolnikov.

The reason I did it till the ban is because otherwise Bukharin wouldn't be awesome.

Almost all of them are quite interesting, but the aura surrounding Trotsky is hard to match, so I'd probably have to go with him.
