Rand (literally a normal person who opposes a system that feeds itself on murder and sacrifice)

Do you know anything about Marx?
Not at all. Just pushing some dark green avatar buttons.

Not a huge fan of either, but I'll chose the one that didn't contribute to an ideology that led to immense death and suffering worldwide.

I dunno I think Rand's writing leads to plenty of suffering.

Objectivism has never been the official policy of any government.
Communism: Great Purge, Cultural Revolution.
Objectivism: The banks went wild in a hardly objectivist economy.

Gee guys what has lead to more suffering??

Great Depression led to Hitler.
The Great Depression occurred when Ayn Rand was an angry, miserable Russian immigrant nobody trying and failing to get We The Living published.

I'm talking about the "idea"
Pre Depression America wasn't a completely unregulated economy, you know.

To those who blame Marx for what Stalin or Mao did: you do realize that Marx died in 1883, yes?
Ideas are kind of important in history.

By this logic, I guess you can blame Jesus of Nazareth for the actions of Paul or Constantine then. Or the Crusades.
So, the ideas of Rand which have never been close to being implemented are more destructive than an ideology that has caused millions of deaths (which, yes, to fair, aren't the direct fault of Marx).

As for the Jesus analogy: Jesus preached the exact opposite of what happened. To my knowledge, Karl Marx never called for the liquidation of the Kulaks but never preached against violence either.
