His song Country Roads is like the only reason anyone would actually want to be from West Virginia just so they could sing that with pride.

Coming from an actual West Virginian family, I can say that it is indeed epic to sing. We play it a lot. Especially at weddings.

I like some of his songs and think some of them are pretty corny.  But I voted FF because one of my two earliest memories and associations with music was listening to two of my older brothers, who were invited to performing at weddings, play guitars and sing Annie's Song in the living room.

Not my favorite, but FF--I have very fond memories of watching a street performer do a really lovely Japanese rendition of 'Country Roads' (I think maybe the one from the film Whisper of the Heart?) in Hakodate the summer before last.

FF, his two-disc compilation is one of my favourite CDs to play in my car.
