http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-cornwall-30876360In what might be a new standard for frivolous litigation, Julie Lawrence, of Cornwall, United Kingdom, sent an invoice to five-year old Alex Nash, and took his parents to small claims court for the amount of 15 pounds, 95 pence (roughly $24 in U.S currency), after Alex's parents RSVP'd to Julie's son's Birthday Party, celebrated at the Plymouth Ski and Snowboard Center in Devon, then backed out without contacting Ms. Lawrence (though they claim they didn't have her contact information). BBC Legal Correspondent Clive Coleman believes that there is no case to recover the "no show fee", but would a countersuit be plausible?
Also does anyone feel sorry for Ms. Lawrence's son? He's not going to have many friends going forward, with his mother so litigious.
