Hello, dear friends. Welcome to my lighthouse this glorious morning in Bar Harbor, Maine. Why are we here you may ask? While some candidates for public office feel the need to go to the city and gloat in front of millions (I myself have done this, and have gotten tired of it) I'm here to tell you that I'm running for Northeast Senator, in February. I have decided this campaign is going to mostly involve me, chatting to all of you from my lighthouse. Just as I operate this lighthouse to make sure the poor drunken lobster fisherman don't crash into the rocky shore, spewing blood, bones, and guts all over my front yard, I will operate in the Senate to ensure The People don't spew their blood, bones, guts, and life savings all over the yard just to please the slave pushers.

This campaign is about gathering together, so please, gather around, grab a glass of bourbon (or several), and ask me what is on your mind about our way forward, as a region, and as a nation.

Working Solutions for Working People

Today I would like to talk about those who have led the charge, in building our mighty republic. I am talking about you, the men and women who work every day, deal with your psychotic richer than you boss

come home exhausted by the end, and then are forced to go home to feed your screaming unrelenting demon children.

Many of you do all of this, and are barely able to feed yourselves, and your screaming children. Fear not People of the Northeast, as a new era could very well be upon us, for I have proposed A Jackson per Sixty Act. If this bill passes, every working Northeasterner will have the money to afford to buy nutritious and healthy food for you and your families, be able to buy quality clothing, pay for heat, transportation, and have money left over to go on vacation, or buy something the whole family will enjoy. But that's not all. The act goes much further than ensuring that every worker earns enough to live on. This act also establishes a much needed Labor board in our region, which shall deal with the very much alive problem of civil rights violations, and wrongful termination, and will have the power to recommend wage and labor policy improvement in our region.

I do realize however, that there is much work to be done, and this is the very reason why I am running for Senator. I truly am the candidate of The People, and that is why every bill I propose will be based around making the lives of our citizenry better. Over the next few days, I also intend to introduce legislation dealing with vacation time, sick pay, and surveillance.

Thank you very much, my good man! I am also still very much open to questions about my stances and candidacy, so I'm going to ask anyone who has any questions to not hesitate!

Even I think those wage increases are patently fycking ridiculous. $25 per hour? Is this supposed to be a parody campaign of Labor? Do tell me at least - I can take a good joke.

Aaaaand to add this, his running against Talleyrand, right? That guy was governor when I was in the Northeast Assembly. Oh, if I started talking... Roll Eyes I'd rather have someone proposing a $25 minimum wage than a center-left liberal who pretends to be a socialist and takes credit for things he didn't really do ^^

Dude, Talleyrand is taking credit for doing things WE did in the assembly. You were Speaker at the time. You should remember.

He's mentioning them as part of his accomplishments. Of course he signed them. But as accomplishments...

The minimum wage act I proposed was more satirical, if you will, then something I actually want to see enacted. I mainly proposed it, as even though our dear friend Winfield had already resigned since then, I had more of a mindset of "evening the score" in terms of bills introduced. While I support higher wages, and better living standards for all atlasians, it is also not my intent to see business owners go bankrupt, or to see fewer jobs than ever before. But while it was partially satirical, I did also introduce it in order to hopefully start a national discussion about minimum wage. While $25/hour is obviously far too high given current economics, my bill did in fact start a bit of a discussion, and I'm hoping we can turn that talk into: "what is a good, starting living wage to pay our workers?"

Especially when I took an active role in crafting many of these bills in addition to signing them. And I've never claimed to be a socialist.

Please stop trolling.

I'm still sad Winfield was crucified.

Who else is running for this sacred office, Matty my boy? Either way, this is a good opportunity for The People to color another seat green, and we must seize the day, I say, and ensure that happens!

To be fair, I understand the reaction of Sawx, Matt, Adam et al because Winfield wasn't just standing up for his beliefs or whatever, he was spamming the queue and making it so that the poor NE Assembly spent all its time debating doomed repeal efforts. A bit of legislative trolling from those opposed is reasonable.

Endorsement removed. Sorry Matty, nothing personal Sad It's just the call of duty (not the game xD) that requires me. Still, best of luck and my support for second option Smiley
