Sorry Lumine, I would prefer that you PM a senator for legislations you would like them to be introduced rather than posting in the Legislative Introduction Thread. Just for a question of separation of power.

I'm sorry Windjammer, but I fail to see any point in this your proposal?
Separation of power?
The president shouldn't be able to propose legislations. If he wants some legislations to be introduced for him, he should ask a senator to introduce a legislation for him.

Is it clearer?

Well, he still is not able to do so. He still needs a Senator to introduce it for him. What difference is there if he posts it in the thread, for the public to see, and asks a Senator to sposnor it or contacts a Senator in private and asks him to do so? Precisely none, in my opinion.
Separation of power, simply.

No. I am sorry, but your argumentation of "seperation of power" simply makes no sense here. This slight change of procedure does not a single thing to undermine the seperation of power. If so, then that SC-Justices administer impeachment votes for the executive and the legislative branch would be an equal violation of the "seperation of power"-clause.

Only senators should be able to post in this thread. This is not an important issue though Tongue

Yeah, it's really not that important so that it would justify clogging that thread with an endless quote-avalanche Tongue

Let's leave it so, I'd say.

To clarify, is this amendment stopping the VP posting in the Legislation Introduction or getting rid of that whole section? I ask because there's a loose end strike bit at the bottom of that section.

Under the old rules, the effecto f Windjammer's amendment would be to leave the present rules contained in the stricken section in effect as it stuff not referenced in a text would not be changed. I don't know if that is still the case or not.

MY assumption is he is removing it from this text so that it will remain unaltered in the same form it is in prior to the passage of this rules amendment. I hope that makes at least some bit of sense. Wink

I'm going to say that I consider the amendment hostile, as I've explained my arguments for said change and I remain convinced about them.

OK so it's stopping both the VP and the President posting in the Legislation Introduction Thread? I'm going to object to that.

Senators a vote is now open on Windjammer's amendment, please vote aye nay or abstain

As long as we are clear that a sitting Senator must sponsor these bills.

I actually with Windjammer on at least one part of this - The President and Vice President shouldn't post in the legislation offered thread. I mean I see how it is more convenient, but the President and Vice President should be in constant contact with the Senate. I feel like this would reduce said contact.

Windjammer's amendment has enough votes to fail, senators have 24 hours to change their votes
