BREAKING: ORDER BEGINS TO BREAK DOWN IN UNION SQUARE

That's the Whole Foods I went to to watch the Ferguson protests. Those were a lot more civil and orderly from the looks of it.

what, you think projects are just gonna manage themselves??!

No, but I think studying that subject probably makes you less equipped to do anything. Tongue

My friend who is an engineer had to take a course in that and struggled enormously with it, not being a competent bullsh*tter like me. I gave some BS paragraphs which he cited as coming from my forthcoming article in the Journal of Grasping at Straws. That was his only A in the course. That's project management.

If King promises to troll them I support this though, ftr.

Looks like the Euro Model f[inks]ed up big time. 😒

That said, the TRAVEL BAN is now in effect. Any non-emergency personnel seen out on the streets will be shot on-sight, from what I understand.

Yes, talked to the professor about an hour or so after class about Thailand and how I was considering writing my thesis on the idea of the "sufficiency economy", and talking about the emergence of the moralistic Bangkokian middle class

I am interested in this. I was under the impression that the Thai "right"--that is, the educated urban middle and upper classes--were generally more tolerant of the sexual exploitation that Thailand is best known for.

His advice seems a bit contradictory--those who already do the one half of his advice and those who do the other half are generally rather different sorts of people--that is, those who derive their primary enjoyment from sensory input versus those who derive it primarily from mental input.

We'll be happy to take some of their snow. This is the driest January on record for California. San Francisco literally has 0.00 inches total for the month right now.

Maybe I don't.

Anyway, why does my friend want to go to the bar at 2pm! I can't even go to a bar!

We've only got about six or eight inches here. It's less Snowmageddon and more Snow-battle with a death count somewhere in the three or lower four digits: A dramatic event that is nevertheless really not in any way out of the ordinary.

Yes, it's all over, and we got 8'', which is half what I called last night; it seems while the flow stopped the band over NYC dissipated over the night, which I was seeing right before I went to sleep. While it wasn't anywhere near the epic storm they were saying it'd be it was pretty substantial. The streets are an absolute mess, but the buses and trains seem to be running normally now.

...and why on earth did I leave the library at 5:30 am? I know exactly what I produced by the end of that time, but it's literally been 12 hours since I left class... how did I manage to spend that much time doing what I did, in the library?

Were you watching porn on the library computers?

Simfan you think they're gonna cancel school? I feel like it's snowing as much if not more than the Snowpocalypse from Monday/Tuesday, plus it's supposed to get super icy in the morning, but on the other hand, Columbia administration is terrible, so you never know.

Simfan you think they're gonna cancel school? I feel like it's snowing as much if not more than the Snowpocalypse from Monday/Tuesday, plus it's supposed to get super icy in the morning, but on the other hand, Columbia administration is terrible, so you never know.

From my vantage point here in Butler (having decided to break the disequilibrium I had slid into these past few days and shift to an earlier and regular schedule, which required working all night) the snow seemed quite heavy, but looking outside now they seem to have completely cleared the paths, plus there is quite a bit of activity in the dining hall meaning the staff is already here. It's almost 7 and I see no email (although I don't think I got one last week until well after they announced) concerning the weather, I assume if there is one it'll be the normal braying about "Normal Operations!".

If the snowfall was heavier outside the city (I dare not check right now), it might give commuting professors and staff cause to not make the commute; I see that my school district back in NJ has declared a snow day, so there might be some problems, yes, but otherwise I see nothing that would indicate another cancellation of classes, which are rare as is. (Indeed, I suspect had the administration somehow known how much snow would actually fall last week, they would not have cancelled classes, provided the roads and rails were open.)

Anyway, I was able to talk to (or perhaps more honestly at) Sawx about the weekend's events and talked out much of the disorienting parts; with that I expect I will make the post later today.
