John Boehner's outrageous plan to help a foreign leader undermine Obama

Obviously not treason, but bringing a foreign leader to the country to attack the sitting president is disgusting.

noun
noun: treason; noun: high treason; plural noun: high treasons

the crime of betraying one's country, especially by attempting to kill the sovereign or overthrow the government.

Pretty sure that's not what this is.

Is this legal? Or does Boehner just expect Obama to do nothing about it?

Lolz. Oh no, Congress may undermine the President's attempt to negotiate a law that requires the approval of Congress.

It's not like the majority of Republican elected officials have ever regarded their president as a legitimate leader. It doesn't matter how many elections he won. Jay Rockefeller was being very pithy when he said Obama is "the wrong color."

Using a foreigner to advocate for policies in your own country isn't necessarily undermining your country, because it isn't necessarily preferencing the other country over your own.  silly stuff leif.

Neither treason or betraying the country or undermining the Presidency. Congress is allowed to invite people to speak to it, independent of the executive branch. Congress isn't necessarily required to bring in the executive branch to consult.

Your behavior here reminds me of those who were Bush apologists in his time in office. You could be the perfect Republican, if your party affiliation was Republican. I thought for a moment I was reading a "blue" avatar. The whole "betrayal" and "treason" sounds so Fox News.

So, Obama gets bent by Boehner, the question is, what diversion will the opposition, (WH and media) muster up so to obfuscate the significance’s  of relevance without his Obama presence.
You do remember the academia health care con being upstage by the John McCain/ Dianne Feinstein torture of treason scandal.

What Boehner is doing in this case is imprudent, but if a Speaker was bringing in a foreign leader to argue for diplomacy instead of sanctions and war to oppose the policy of a hawkish President, I wouldn't necessarily have a problem with it. The statement that Constitutionally "only the president is allowed to make foreign policy, and not Congress" is a ridiculous oversimplification at best.

So are you arguing that Tel Aviv is somehow controlling the House Republicans (and I guess Bob Menendez too) into making aggressive actions against Iran, constituting the Republican "treason"? You might want to take off the tin foil hat.

Now given Israel has elections in less than two months, and Netanyahu is atop the Likud party list... how does he expect messing with another countries foreign policy to help him at home anyways?

Perhaps he's taking a page out of the books of US political leaders?

The reverse never happens. Congressional Democrats didn't have the slightest idea how to oppose Bush.

Tel Aviv has had a disproportionate influence on our foreign policy, on both sides of the aisle, for some decades now. Not saying this is betrayal, but it is also untoward on the part of house and especially Bibi. He has never learned to stop biting the hands that feed him.

It's not even a good deal for Israel.

I can hardly see ISIS stopping at the borders of the "Zionist Entity"... and Israel could find itself with the same interest as Iran in stopping ISIS.

Mossad wins the troll of the year award, literally tells Congress to ignore anything coming out of Bibi's mouth.

Just imagine if Democrats did the same with left-wing Latin American Presidents when a Republican is in office...

President Obama will not meet with Netanyahu in March, out of respect for the Israeli elections.

Basically. Bibi and the Likudniks have actually started truly believing their own BS. Iran was never and is never going to attack Israel. Even if they developed nuclear weapons, it would be idiotic to attack a country that has a much greater quality and quantity of nukes than they do. The whole "Death to Israel" / "Ohmyallah kill teh Jewz!" schtick is the Iranian equivalent of rube baiting. It wins elections. It's not different than Republicans insisting they're going to ban all abortions anywhere ever when everyone knows they don't use political capital for anything other than tax cuts for the One Percent.

Thing is, I think they're still stuck in the Ahmedinajad-era mindset. That guy was a genuine lunatic who might have decided that wiping out half the world's Jews was a good move on a whim.

I don't particularly trust Rouhani, but he has some sense of self-preservation. He understands carrots and sticks.

I imagine it's probably similar to what a lot of people in the US went through when Gorbachev replaced Chernenko.
