Sarah Palin: "Of course" interested in 2016 White House bid

It makes sense for her to run, but it also makes more sense for her to say she'll run to get her name in the news again.

She wouldn't become the nominee.

But it would make sense for her to run. There is likely to be a shortage of women on the debate stage. There is a limited number of book club candidates running mainly to increase their profiles. And it would get her in the news a lot. And then she can later be described as a former 2016 candidate, rather than 2008 running mate.

Apparently she wanted to run in 2012, but didn't realize that an actual campaign requires a lot of prep work when it comes to qualifying for the various state primaries. She might have learned to handle it a little better now.
