I've voted in 8 general elections (2000-2014) and I voted for the winner 5 of those 8 times

In the 2011 Canadian federal election, I voted Conservative and the Conservative Party formed government.

In the 2011 Ontario provincial election, I voted Liberal and the Liberal Party formed government.

In the 2014 Ontario provincial election, I voted Liberal and the Liberal Party formed government.

In the 2014 Mississauga municipal election, I voted Steve Mahoney but Bonnie Crombie became mayor.

So I guess it would be three out of four?

2002: Voted for Roger Moe for Governor, he lost.
2004: Voted for Kerry/Edwards, and technically won, as they did win Minnesota's electoral votes. But we know that's not what's being asked for here, so I'll say lost.
2006: Voted for Mike Hatch for Governor, lost (only person I voted for that year who lost too)
2008: Voted for Obama/Biden, won
2010: Voted for Mark Dayton for Governor, won
2012: Voted for Obama/Biden, won
2014: Voted for Mark Dayton for Governor, won

So 4/7. Though every person I've voted for for every partisan office since 2008 has won and only one in 2006 lost.

Ugh, 0fer
Johnson 2012 and Corbett 2014

I think I got something in 2013 - all the school board and half the judges wrong but whatever was on top won.

Actually I think my only big winners are Meehan (x2) and McCord for Treasurer.
Voted against Casey (2012) and Wolf (2014) at the last moment after tons of indecisiveness.

Let's not even discuss 2013...I'm pretty sure I just voted for whoever the newspaper told me to in that one. Tongue I guess newspaper endorsements do still matter!

My perfect record doesn't extend to the primaries though, since I did vote for Schwartz in 2014 and Patrick Murphy in 2012 (yes, I can legitimately claim a "don't blame me, I voted for Murphy" bumper sticker now).

Hah thank you for doing your part with Murphy - if only more had done so. Unfortunately the only competitive primary I voted in was 2014 (too young in 2012) and Corbett's later banished opponent was my absentee vote. Pretty sure I just like picking losers.

2014 Waterloo Municipal (only election I voted in)
City Council: Voted for Jeff Henry, he got 84% of the vote
Mayor: Emily Traub, she came second but both her and the winner were progressives
Regional Chair: Ken Seiling, won
Regional Council, School Board: I didn't know the stances of most of these candidates so I voted for the least white/least male-sounding name.  3 out of 4 of those I voted for won, and it turned out those 3 were progressives so my plan worked. However next time I'll try a more informed approach.

One vote, one loss.

2014 U.S. Representative election for IN-1: Voted for Mark Leyva, who was never going to win anyways (he also ran 2002, 2004, 2006, and 2008), but I won't ever vote for Visclosky. We really have the worst of both worlds here in IN-1. Sad

What do you mean exactly by "worst of both worlds"?

So far, the only time I've voted in a Federal election was last year's Congressional  election, where I voted for Cathy McMorris Rodgers, who obviously won.

With the exception of nonpartisan local elections, I'm pretty sure nobody I've voted for has ever won. I prefer it that way.

1 win (2012 - Obama/Brown/Kaptur)

1 loss (2014 - FitzGerald, Pepper, Carney, Turner, Pillich)

2016 will be the tiebreaker. Tongue

This is basically my situation, except I've voted in three elections where Labor has won the seat, and the Liberals the election.

I've also voted in two by-elections where I gave my preferences to Labor and they won the seat, so I suppose that's two unambiguous victories.
