POTUS has offered to give you an appointment to any federal government position of your choosing, but not any of the Cabinet-level positions.

Which do you choose?

Top would have to be CIA. Underneath that, I guess DHS and FBI, though not sure in what order. If I can't get one of the cool posts, I guess ATF.

Any non-Cabinet appointed office? Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.

Yeah, this.

For the record, ATF would be so I could horde all of the alcohol, tobacco, and firearms for myself and my cohort of bureau higher-ups.

You people who would want to be on the Supreme Court are crazy.  That is a difficult job with real work.

I would want to be an Ambassador to a western European country because, 1. I would be rich because you only get that job by donating money and 2. It requires no work.

On the plus side, if you can convince 4 of your colleagues of something, it becomes the law of the land and nobody in the entire country can do anything about it.

I should have specified that SCOTUS is not an option.

If the president is offering you an appointment, the implication is that you are a political supporter he wishes to reward. SCOTUS has never been used for this purpose in the modern era and there are currently no vacancies, (Unless you are implying you'd kill John Roberts.)

Right, because constitutional amendments don't exist. Oh wait...

No constitutional amendment will ever be ratified under the current partisan climate.

I'm not smart enough, nor "tryhard" enough to do anything important.....and the Ambassador idea seems cool and easy if it's small, out of the way place.  Botswana seems nice.  Ambassador is still probably too much work, so maybe a sh**tty gopher for the Ambassador.  Like Jack Black's character in The Brink, only nowhere near Pakistan thankyouverymuch.

Ambassador to New Zealand or something like that would be swell.
