My local public radio station is WiTF.  I love that.

I kinda like Science Friday.  Everything including climate change, comets, medical devices, the future of space travel, and dinosaurs are covered, all hosted by a goofy, friendly voice attached to a dude named Ira Flatow, whose name I thought was Ira Plato until I saw it in print recently.

Kind of odd that this is my second favorite show on the radio behind Howard Stern Tongue

On the MediaPrairie Home is a close second.  Of course, I listen to both, along with All Things Considered and Wait, Wait…Don't Tell Me! religiously.

I liked Tell Me More, but it went off the air a few month ago.

This American Life, I'd say. Ira Glass came to LSU while I was there and he gave pretty awesome presentation.

I had forgotten that one, but I like it as well.  Very eclectic.  Sometimes they're talking about near-Earth astroid trajectories, sometimes it's Syrian rebles, and still other times it focuses on the marketing of violent video games to children, and to their parents.  It's no less agenda-driven than Fox News or MSNBC, but the way the announcer's smooth voice lulls me into a false sense of security even as he says "the world is horrible and getting worse and we're all going to die" is somehow reassuring.  Then again, that pretty much describes all NPR programming.  No wonder we all love it so much.

This is so hard for me. I was a weird kid and listened to Radiolab and This American Life whenever a new one came out. I actually remember asking my mom for her credit card so I could contribute during one of their drives. Since I've started driving, All Things Considered has begun winning me over.

Everything NPR is amazing except maybe Wait Wait which I don't care for and every time I mention it around my friends one of the right-wingers has to talk about how biased it is. Give it a try, people.

Of course I don't think that it is unbiased, but it is hell of a lot less biased than most other outlets.
