I was a Kansan for nearly 32 years, but after a job change and other life events last April, I moved to Kansas City, Missouri. Despite my lifelong dislike of Missouri, I've accepted ... maybe even embraced ... my new location; love the home, love the location, love Kansas City and like the job.

Also, since joining the Forum more than 10 years ago, my political persuasions have changed from relatively conservative to moderately liberal on about every major issue area outside of foreign policy. I'm still technically unaffiliated from any political party but would identify with Democrats nine times out of ten.

So, should I change my avatar accordingly for my location, my political leanings, or both?

I-KS is good. I-MO and D-MO are already sort of iconic avatars, and I fear you would always be in their shadow.

You are with the Democrats on everything, but I agree with homestate pride.  Despite living in Illinois for 8 months, and then transferring to California for what I thought would be no less than 3.5 years I never changed from D-NJ.

Therefore, D-KS is the way to go!

D-MO. It is time that it be filled by a worthy poster.

My residence was California, then I returned to Virginia and accordingly switched it. And should I go to Asheville for Spring Break, I shall temporarily make it North Carolina.

Change it by the location and leanings as I see it, and you appear Democratic. Since you live in Missouri now, go for it.

Yeah, D-MO is just too iconic, you'd be too overshadowed. Good where you are.

D-MO would be fine.  Opebo isn't using it any more.

How about D-KS? Missouri is a terrible state so I would hate to see you have to change your avater to that.
