Not quite a median voter, but a 47th percentile voter.

Traditional moderatish Republican who lost their job (or were otherwise dissatisfied with the party) in 2008, and felt Obama didn't fix the country well enough so returned to Team R, perhaps?

That's sort of like my mom actually (though she voted for McCain in 2008 and Obama in 2012).

This one really isn't a challenge. I think a lot of moderate Republicans voted Obama in 2008 because they were upset at how Bush's second term played out and/or McCain's pick of Palin as a runningmate, but returned to the fold in 2012.

This is an easy one, definitely quite a few Republicans. I think that you'll find the most party crossover in years where there's a dire economic situation.

I voted for Bush W. in 2004 and voted for Obama in 2008. I voted for Bush W. in 2004 because of National Security and for Obama in 2008 because I liked his ideas.

A lot of white suburbs in northern states voted this way. Especially in the Chicago, Minneapolis, New York, and Philly areas.

Sounds sorta like my government teacher last year. 50-some year old white guy who (I believe) is born and raised Kansan. Really awesome teacher too. He voted Bush in 2000 because he thought Bush espoused a good kind of compassionate conservatism, nobody in 2004 because he was anti-war but had a great amount of disdain for Kerry, voted Obama in 2008 with hope for reform, and voted Romney in 2012 because he saw him as stronger on economic issues.

Especially in the New York suburbs where Obama got higher then usual margins of victory due largely to the housing crisis I think.
