I voted "maybe" because while a reduction in corporate income taxes would be good IF it was coupled with a limit on the corporate officer compensation which could be used as a deduction against their taxes and if the compensation of all corporate officers receiving more compensation (as defined by the IRS) in excess of the compensation received by the President of the United States were published in the annual reports.

I'd just like to congratulate Europe on having slower economic growth than America.  In fact, there is no western idustrial nation that has a higher rate of growth, so we must be doing something right.

Don't understand the American fixation with low taxes?  Maybe thats your problem.

You might have a higher current growth rate, but my country, Australia, hasn't had any form of recession since the 80s.

If you read the 16th Amendment to the Constitution, Statesrights, I think you'd realize that the federal income tax is not unconstitutional.

That's why we want to repeal it.

Fair enough, but StatesRights said it was unconstitutional, which obviously it isn't.

The way it was passed was is very questionable. And the S.C. declared income tax unconstitutional in the 1870s.

Yes.  And then they amended the constitution to allow for it.  I think the 16th amendment should be repealed as much as you do, but I'm not going to say its unconsitutional when it clearly is.

The amendment made it constitutional, which is why it must be repealed.  The question is again raised as to why Bush hasn't proposed a repeal to the 16th amendment instead of wasting time on f****ts.

Opebo I agree with you on this one but I am surprised that you would say that. Are there really two people in there? A little schizophrenia maybe?

Texasgurl What is the basis of that comment? How much do you think they should pay and how much do you think they really do pay?
