Putin doesn't care about Russia's economy anymore. From his perspective, dinging his economy is like bringing a knife to a gunfight. He knows he can always make money back (and he will), but every square inch that his soldiers (the 'rebels') advance will stay with Russia forever. Hence he always has the incentive to attack more until his forces get a real bloody nose on the ground.

Good, good. Russia is the primary foreign adversary of the United States. I agreed with Romney when he said it and was disappointed when my fellow Democrats ridiculed him for it.
