Like the Obama thread, I'll do a list:

1. Keeping America safe after 9/11
2. Banning partial-birth abortion
3. Cutting taxes to stimulate economic growth
4. Saving the banking and auto industries by proposing the bailouts (which Obama signed)

This was my least favorite Bush accomplishment, along with Iraq.

Millenium Challenge approach to foreign aid seems to be doing a lot of good.
also Proliferation Security Initiative seems like an important thing that doesn't get much attention.

Destroying the Republican Party was pretty cool.

Only their chances for the Presidency a few cycles. They've regained control of the Senate and House (in no small part due to Fake Democrats like Landroo and Prior in 2014 who refused to say that they had even voted for a twice-elected Democratic President and who were lukewarm supporters of him in Congress, anyway).

And the Republicans in Congress refuse to even attempt to seriously govern, because government itself is a socialist conspiracy. Or something. And they say it's Obama's fault that Congress is so pathetic, and together with their mouthpieces in the media who claim that America's first black President is "unpopular" with the public (who get their information from where? Oh, right, the media).

Or, to put it more concisely:

PEPFAR, CAFTA-DR, SORT, and No Child Left Behind. Also, the 2008 bank bailout; you can't give him too much credit for this obviously, but the financial crisis could have been so much worse without government intervention.

Also, I liked how Bush pursued closer relations with India.

His best legacy would be his PEPFAR initiative to end HIV-AIDS in sub-Saharan Africa, as well as his Millennium Challenge Corporation.

Since there is an Obama and Clinton I decided to find this one. Cute poll, so I decided I'll actually list off some accomplishments for this great man.

(No real order)

1. PEPFAR Initiative to combat HIV/AIDs (as multiple people have mentioned)
2. The PATRIOT Act
3. His response after 9/11; his call for unity in the aftermath of 9/11 (also includes his speech at Ground Zero)
4. The removal of Saddam Hussein (there can be debate on whether or not it was the right decision to do so, among other things, but Hussein's ouster is most certainly a major part of his presidency)
5. passage of Medicare Part D
6. Keeping America safe after 9/11 (with no terror attacks occurring on U.S. soil during the remainder of his term)
7. Partial Birth Abortion Ban
8. U.S. increased sanctions on an increasingly erratic Iran during the Bush Presidency (UN Res's: 1696, 1737, 1747, 1803)
9. Reorganizing U.S. intelligence agencies and creating the Department of Homeland Security
10. Substantively increasing U.S. presence and aid to African countries
11. Boosting and doubling the research budget of the National Institute of Health

12. President's Malaria Initiative
13. Proliferation Security Initiative (103 Nations endorsed it as of June 2015)
14. Bush Tax Cuts

15. Condemnation of Russia for it's Georgia invasion; Signing SORT w/ Russia
16. Increasing foreign aid
17. TARP Bailout
18. Paying off US debt to UN

There are others, of course, but these are just some of them.

Bringing a great team of people, including Colin Powell, Condoleeza Rice, Robert Gates, Gale Norton, Margaret Spellings, Mary Peters, Susan Schwab, Rob Portman, John Danforth, Christine Todd Whitman, and so many others, and yet somehow still managing to mess up.

No SCOTUS justice is perfect. Thomas and Scalia would sometimes have bonkers opinions too. Roberts is smart, a joy during oral arguments, and generally right > 90% of the time.

Obamacare is constitutional so it can't be thrown out by courts . It can only be repealed by congress .

PEPFAR, CAFTA, The Bailout (which is not 100% attributable to him but nevertheless), I assume there were some other things.

Only if one tautologically defines "constitutional" as "what the Supreme Court says is constitutional." Otherwise how can one say that a provision is a tax within Congress's delegated powers but not a tax that would need to originate in the House as constitutionally mandated?

15 was interesting. Some guy from law school kept saying that Russians were upset about "leftists" taking over Congress in 2006 and that only Republicans knew how to deal with them. Yet, it was with a Republican President when they started offensive wars.
