Katy Perry as Sunday's halftime act gets generally positive reviews: Americans give Perry a 37/20 favorability rating, and by a 37/23 spread say she's a good choice for the halftime show.

Unlike some celebrities who can be pretty politically polarizing, Democrats (38/17) and Republicans (37/21) give Perry similarly positive numbers.

The other Perry tested in our poll, Rick Perry, has a 29/41 favorability rating.

Kinda low (the Katy Perry favorables).

I also like how PPP starts their analysis text (click on the PDF):

Yeah, even I'm not as much as a KP fan as I used to be. Come to think of it, I didn't even do my traditional Perry Christmas signature last month.

From the crosstabs:

Only African-Americans and "very conservative" people seem to hate Katy Perry.

Why is that (the first one) ?

Do Blacks just hate anything that isn't Rap or Hip Hop ?

Perry's music is sugarpop that steals a lot from that music stylistically and replaces the substance with suburban girl problems, so I imagine that's why A-As do not approve.

Very conservative types just assume anyone to release a charting album after Reagan left the White House is singing about shooting up heroin and grinding their crotch on Baby Jesus's face.

     But they're not? Sad

Apparently that Pat Boone album of terrible metal covers got him kicked out of his church for a while.

That's cool! I looked at the first two-three pages and have to say that nothing there really surprises me. A lot of it is about where I'd think it would be.

I'd be curious about Ben Roethlisberger for Pitt, though. Didn't see him. The Steelers of course are widely approved of, but it would be interesting to see his numbers. He's had a few. . . issues.
