Well I'll say this for her, Kyrsten Sinema knows how to name a PAC.

Between Salmon and Schweikert, which one would be a stronger candidate against Mccain?

I'd say, from everything I've seen, that Salmon is far more disciplined and would probably defeat McCain rather easily, while Schweikert has a chance of blowing up.

Mccain will be reelected. Synema should run against Flake if republicans win the white house.

Unless said republican president is GWB-esque terrible, AZ isn't electing a democrat in a midterm. The democratic turnout problem in midterms will continue beyond Obama's tenure.

I'd back a Tea Partier over McCain.

McCain may get a much lower-profile challenger. Sign Salmon may not bite?

Schweikert says spousal veto, so he's not running. Both he and Salmon also have prime committee slots to consider.

The state senator and Salmon are still considering. Presumably someone will make a move soon.

Ah, other than a PPP poll of about a year old, where are all of these polls showing that McCain is uber unpopular?

AZ TP worried that Salmon and Ward could split the vote, or that Salmon won't run if the ABM vote is split.

I think Ward will actually make a run, but we'll see. If Salmon runs, I don't think she'll do any better than a couple percent from wherever her home base is; otherwise, she could emerge as the main anti-McCain alternative. Either way, I'm confident McCain will clear 50% in a primary.

I actually quite like Sinema, especially for a politician with as leftist views as she does, and I think she has a very bright future ahead of her. Unless a very unpopular Republican is elected President in 2016, I can't see her getting elected to the Senate in the near future. Arizona has been palatable to Democratic Governors in the past and that may be her way to go -- we'll see what Ducey's approvals are like in four years.

McCain has officially announced he's running. Here's hoping that he gets a good spanking in the primary.

Curses! I still think the Dems should put up a good candidate to run against him and not just a sacrificial lamb.

Unless there's another President Bush to help people forget how sh**tty Democrats are.

Kyrsten Sinema would lose badly to McCain. The Dems should probably run Carmona again.

Is this the same "Salmon" that lost to Napolitano in the 2002 gubernatorial? While those races are more bi-partisan, I'd be careful if I were the GOP.

All right dems, time to draft Sinema.

Sinema would be an extremely weak candidate (I get that she may seem strong on paper, but she has an absurdly large amount of baggage that would all-but-gaurentee she loses in a landslide in any statewide race).  Even Richard Carmona would give us a much better chance of picking up the seat (at least Carmona would force the Republicans to waste some money, even if he probably wouldn't win).  I'd prefer to see Phil Gordon, Jonathan Rothschild, or even Greg Stanton (although I'm not a fan of some of his positions) run instead.  Kirkpatrick could be good too, but I think her best bet is to lock down her congressional district and wait for a better opportunity assuming she wants to run for Senate at some point.

Kirkpatrick seems like a great candidate on paper, I'd just like to see if she is a good candidate (good speaker, charismatic, not tied down with baggage like our beloved 2014 candidates Ed Fitzgerald and Charlie Brown).
