If McCain wins the primary, it's very good news for Republicans.

No, No it's not. Keeping dinosaurs around doesn't help anyone.

McCain still has my endorsement, especially over Ward.

Mccain would lead her 45-33.

Not particularly great considering 75% of Arizona republicans don't know her.

If McCain wins the primary, this race is at least Likely R. If he loses, then it's Lean R or Toss-up.

I thought McCain is underwater in the polls at the moment? I know he has a local machine going on, but so does Reid and that wouldn't have prevented his obliteration.

Kirkpatrick isnt Carmona. But, Flake is certainly more vulnerable in 2018, she should drop out and hold her powder dry for 2018, when Flake will certainly be tea partied.

As a McCain supporter, it's hard to not look at Trump's comments as a blessing in disguise. Many conservatives who have been critical of him for years are now coming to his defense, and his POW status will be on people's minds when the election rolls around. I'm curious to see how this has helped his favorability numbers, both in Arizona and nationwide.

Jack Murtha was targetted by conservative groups. Lesson, never politicize veterans, especially POWs.

Ann Kirkpatrick is going to support the Iran Deal.

Interesting. Thought she might vote no and cite it as evidence of bipartisanship. (All republicans are against the deal)

If Salmon or Schweikert enter, McCain easily wins. Even a 40-38-22 victory is still a victory.

I'd like to see Kirkpatrick have a state rep. challenge her and win. Kirkpatrick supporting the Iran deal just before an election is stupid.

That's funny, I didn't know saying something over a year before an election qualified as saying it "just" before an election.

... Just before the primary.

It's like a GOP candidate supporting, say, fiscal irresponsibility half a year ahead of the N. H. primary.

Arizona's senate primary isn't until next August (yes, it's held separately from the presidential), and Kirkpatrick is unopposed.

Schweikert says that McCain can't beat Kirkpatrick. Possible sign he's still considering a run:

Obviously nonsense, but I wonder who would win in a Schweikert-Kirkpatrick matchup?

Schweikert. No Republican besides Ward would under perform McCain in a general election. He's so underwater that being a good campaigner won't get him the landslides he got in the past. Unfortunately, Ward is the person that's running against him.
