This thread shall be my office for my tenure as Governor of the Mideast.

With the unexpected resignation of Governor Tmthforu94, I have sworn in as Mideast Governor.  I wish Tmth the very best; he has been a great, longtime public servant, and the shoes I must fill are very big.

Governor Tmthforu94 began great work to revitalize the Mideast region, and I am committed to continuing this work.  

I welcome comments and suggestions on how I can be a better governor for the people of the Mideast.  The great Mideast has so much potential for further greatness.  Let us work to together to tap this potential!

Thank you Mr. Speaker, and thank you Governor for the nomination, as Lieutenant-Governor I will do my best to serve Atlasia. I take this job on as a public servant of the people, and I will faithfully represent them to the best of my abilities. I regret the circumstances that have required me to take this office and I will miss Tmthforu, but we cannot focus on the past forever, but instead must move forward and ahead.

I would like to thank the Assembly for confirming MadmanMotely as Lieutenant Governor of the Mideast.  MadmanMotely has the energy and skills needed in helping this great region reach its full potential, and I wholeheartedly congratulate him and welcome him to the administration.  He will be a great Lieutenant Governor.

Does the Mideast not have a way of expelling inactive councilors? It is very troubling to see a new legislator not participate at all.

I will be taking a leave of absence, lasting one week, starting tomorrow.  I have a few RL issues that need addressing, and regrettably, will be unable to execute my responsibilities as Governor of the Mideast for a week.  I have full confidence that Lt. Governor MadmanMotley will do a fine job as Acting Governor for the next week.

Hold on for a moment. According to the Mideast Constitution the Lt. Governor can only act in the capacity of the Governor if the Assembly votes to install him as the Acting Governor. In other words, the Lt. Governor can only sign bills and perform other gubernatorial duties after having been confirmed as the Acting Governor by the members of the Assembly.

That's not terribly important in the current situation because the bill in question becomes law after seven days anyway if the Governor doesn't veto it but we should keep that in mind for future reference.

MadmanMotley, you should also consider giving the Lt. Gov the power to break ties in the case of a tied vote in the assembly in your Amendment. I believe there no tie-breaking procedure is provided by the constitution as of right now.
