President Borah implemented, among other radical reforms, old-age pension and farm relief. However, Borah stopped short of calls for the cartelization of industry, which earned the ire of some more radical members of his party, breaking off to back Lemke's gadfly candidacy. Despite the objections of former President Smith, his protege-turned-primary rival Governor Roosevelt snatched the nomination, although many are skeptical of his alleged "me-too"-ism, having very little stated policy differences from President Borah. While the economy is still poor, things have improved since the bottom of 1931.

FDR, why vote for the Progressive Republican when there's a progressive Democrat?

Not like this country is in war or headed that way, so no need to go with isolationist/anti-war GOP here.

Beats progressive warmongering interventionism...would've voted for Borah because of that, but I still dislike Curtis and given the past generation the GOP have proven time and time again to be the party too far right...even when it elected LaFollette against Underwood.

Besides I have a feeling FDR will be even more "radical".

Curtis died in 1936, he was coincidentally replaced by a different Kansan.

...

We're going to have to agree to disagree on this. Which is weird, because our ideologies are so similar otherwise. Wink

To fix that:

I have feeling FDR will still be more "radical" economically, even if Borah has the better foreign policy.

But this is still the best selection since 1912.
