It would be interesting to see D. v R house numbers (overall) in each state for each year to see how each state went. Wouldn't be too hard to calculate.

Disagree as New York Reps are mostly republican but the state is Democrat

I concur. The only states that Mondale could have picked up if the 1984 election was held 2 years later were Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New York, Maryland, West Virginia and obviously Minnesota.
