From The Hill. They name Peyton Manning, Brady, Suh, Sherman Tebow in that order.

Brady disavowed political aspirations 3 years ago, said he doesn't think he'll ever jump in. Tebow has said he might. I guess Manning could given how much he's donated to the GOP... no idea about the other 2.

Kicker Jay Feely has said he wants to run for Congress in the future. He's a NFLPA union negotiator at the moment, but is a Republican.

Suh? The guy who's been fined multiple times for stomping?

Tim Tebow's apparent non-heterosexuality makes any political aspirations DOA, assuming he's a Republican.

Tebow's problem would be the FLGOP's deep, young bench. Manning... INGOP has a few Congresscritters who want a Senate seat, so maybe Manning goes for a vacated House seat first? Even if Brady reconsidered my guess is he'd bump his head on the Blue Wall.

Ndamukong Suh would never run for office, but he'd be the next LBJ if he did. Brady and Manning wouldn't. Tebow could, but won't. Sherman might.

If Peyton were to run, I'd imagine he'd do it in Tennessee, not Indiana.

If Manning retired and ran for president in 2016 or 2020, he would probably win.

Brees says he's 'very interested' in politics, FWIW.

You haven't been around enough evangelicals. I've known several guys like that - no interest whatsoever in sex/dating, and a persona that's not effeminate but is just a lot "softer" than your typical young American male. That's what happens when you grow up in the church and are in an environment that tends to prioritize "womanly" attributes like verbosity, a desire to hug people and "love on" them, and be very nonthreatening and cheerful (all things that make a potential convert let their guard down and be more receptive to proselytizing).

It's important for elected offices to feature as many people with severe head injuries as possible.

That's a very special thing of you to say.

Wow what a dumb article. List 5 random NFL players, and include quotes of them saying "I will never run for politics". Pure clickbait.

They'd probably be about as competent as the alternative.

Heard about Sherman. There have always been serious rumors about John Elway going into politics, but it didn't happen. I'm not sure that a lot of athletes are really cut out for it. They usually set themselves up in business.
