- affected by Hurricane Sandy
- urban blue-collar white in the Northeast
- Alaskan swayed by Palin (Arizona had a strong white Romney swing)

I used to be a Republican in 2008, so I would have voted McCain most likely; I turned 18 like 10 days after the election. Proudly voted Obama in 2012 and never looked back.

An working class former Vietnam war veteran who was spat on by hippies when he got home, and has loved McCain for decades because of a shared identity as a Vietnam war veteran. His auto parts manufacturer saved by the GM bailout. Has an adult daughter, age 24, on his health insurance plan thanks to Obamacare. Thinks Romney is an elitist who doesn't care about people like him.

In addition to the correct answers, maybe a non-Southern PUMA Democrat who had calmed down by 2012.

We saw this trend in some areas of the white, working class south. Scared of the black man in 2008 but really out of touch with Romney.
