Thanks to Daily Kos, I've been able to make some maps showing the results of the 2012 Presidential Election by State House/Legislative District.

I'll start out with:

West Virginia

Sorry about the size of the map.

Obama got 71% of the vote in LD 37 in Charleston.  Although I knew he likely won the city, I was surprised at how condensed his support was!

Washington:

Nothing surprising here, although it is worthy to note that Obama managed to barely hold on to Washington's 42 Legislative District.  As many of you know, that was one of the places that Democrats tried to win in order to take back the State Senate (they were unsuccessful).

Good work, Fuzzy. You might want to consider using/creating better basemaps for these results.

Here's Rhode Island (2% scale).

For some reason they don't have results for Massachusetts (at least not for House LDs), but maybe Homely can get those for you.  I'll start work on Utah, though.

I'll put it in the queue!

Thanks, but I'm no good with mapping software, so I'll probably just have to keep going with the resources I know of (Dave's Redistricting App and such).  However, if you have the time to help me with such endeavors, I would certainly appreciate it!

So it turns out Daily Kos had interactive maps that go along with the data they collected:

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2014/05/06/1294897/-Daily-Kos-Elections-interactive-maps-of-presidential-election-results-by-legislative-districts?detail=hide

They don't have detailed election shades though, so I guess mine are still unique in some way.  Tongue  Should I bother to keep going?  It is convenient to have maps with Atlas shades (red for Democrats and blue for Republicans).

Edit: Actually, go to the home page here, then click on the map for better resolution.

What's up with the eastern panhandle-panhandle?
Didn't know that this is a Democratic stronghold within WV.

Could you do a map for the 2014 senatorial election in that state? I wonder if the map would look the same.

The eastern panhandle is being increasingly influenced by NOVA. Actually, I can see Capito flipping those red districts, as she represented them in Congress. OTOH, most of the southern districts would probably be a shade or so lighter blue.

This may be part of it, but the area is actually more Democratic than the adjacent parts of VA and MD, so I'm not sure it's the whole story. Another issue is that there is a lot of federal office employment in this area - the IRS has a big processing centre in Martinsburg, and one of the main National Parks offices is in Harpers Ferry.
