I like the idea of replacing party symbols with animals native to North America.

Here's a better option:



Wolverines being solitary animals would suit quite well the rugged, individualist, go-it-alone image the GOP likes to present to the public.

Democrats, meanwhile, should consider replacing the donkey with this:

Elephants are in the same intellectual league with humans, have a similar life span, protect their young well, and rarely get preyed upon.

Republicans being the party of WASP's was a fairly obvious reference. It may be a bit outdated ethnically, but wasps are also belligerent and aggressive, so it may be a fitting symbol.
