Can Indiana Gov. Mike Pence appeal to black voters like Christie, Paul, and Kasich could? Pence did well with the African-American vote in his 2012 gubernatorial win. He won 14 percent of the African American vote in 2012.

Not in the general election. Better than some others, but not enough to make a difference.

Mike Pence peaked with black voters too early, unfortunately.

No. Rand Paul is the best candidate to appeal to minorities because he actually takes positions on issues important to us and talks to us about them.

Is there anything special about him that will make him appeal to blacks that other Republicans don't have? I see him as a generic Republican.

For what its worth, Indiana blacks are actually some of the more Republican-voting in the country. Don't ask me why I know that, but that's probably why he got 14%.

No, because he's a Republican.

As a Hoosier, I'm wondering how that is. I'm thinking it could be influenced by those in the church seeking to heal many of the racial rifts. Especially in Evangelical and Pentacostal/Charismatic circles.

Could Pence top Romney's rendition of Who Let The Dogs Out with some classic Marvin Gaye?
