Cops have appeared outside his home, and his COS and leg liaison resigned today.

I'm starting to worry that he died. Why would 5 police cars appear if all they wanted to do is arrest him?

Here's hoping that it's nothing serious.

AFAIK, there are none. Whether he goes or not is entirely up to him.

There's a genuine group here worried about his mental health in light of the past few days.

This statement by Kate Brown is certainly interesting:

Looking at Kitzhaber's Facebook page, it appears as if people overwhelmingly want him to stay. It's surprising Facebook users would support him, because you know how arrogant and whiny Republicans on Facebook are. They think every Democrat should resign if they have a nosering or chewed bubble gum in school when they were 8 years old.

This wasn't about Kitzhaber, but about Amanda Curtis. They opposed Curtis because she has a nosering.

He's about to resign. Currently meeting with staff. Brown's inauguration is already being planned.

This may well be the first time ever - in any country - that a popular public figure who hadn't been charged with any ethical or legal violations resigned all because a newspaper told him to.

Is Kate Brown becoming acting governor or governor in name and title (like in most states; Jan Brewer in AZ. also asumend the governorship completely from the post a Secretary of State) and is she serving the entire term until January 2019?

First she would have to run for re-election in the 2016 special election.

Also, this makes me glad that Dems swept the 2012 statewide elections in Oregon. I think SoS was supposed to be competitive (almost every newspaper endorsed her opponent) but she won by a decent margin like all other statewide Dems.
