Yes I'm sure the Korean people were unanimously in favour of being a Stalinist client state.

Haven't seen it, but wartime propaganda is usually by default HP until proven otherwise.

There's an old saying, two wrongs don't make a right.  Jim Crow segregation and racism in America was bad.  The unprovoked invasion of South Korea by three of the most heinous, criminal regimes in twentieth century was also bad.

Our treatment of black soldiers was a disgrace.  And, you can certainly credit the argument that it was reprehensible to both refuse people full citizenship and conscript them into your army.  But, that means black soldiers' service was all the more heroic.  They helped turn back the Communist invasion and because of them there are millions of Koreans who don't have to live in a concentration camp masquerading as a country.

Sorry I thought it was just a problem with my computer but I guess not. It was a Nazi cartoon with the legend "From the Land of Lynching" and two black airmen who got shot down basically expressing relief that at least they won't get lynched (rather ironic since Allied airmen did get lynched in Germany but anyhow)...

As far as our reaction to Boris Yeltsin.  We all were laughing when he got home.  You can either get really upset and distraught or you can take it in stride and laugh.  We chose the laughing route.  Dad joked that he is now "joining the porsche club."  Up until now, he has not had to work on a daily basis.  He'll be fine.  We know where we need to cut down and we'll have further meetings as a family, but it doesn't mean we're going to stop enjoying ourselves in the nationalization department, especially on the utilites.
