For allegedly firing a whistleblower for whistleblowing.

At this point it would be a bigger news story if a day went by that Christie wasn't under investigation.

This is past the point where Christie's actual guilt or innocence ultimately matter. It may not be fair, but he's dead meat walking when in comes to the nomination.

This guy is just a walking disaster. Combine all of this with his "foriegn policy booster" and you might as well stick a fork in the guy. I mean, best case scenario, he pulls a Newt Gingrich and rises when all the other guys fumble only to fumble again when people realize he's NEWT GINGRICH. Worst case scenario? he drops out before Iowa, or doesn't even run because of this criminal investigation.

Why should this be any problem? Now he can play the persecuted martyr, which Republicans eat up all the time.

Can Christie just like, abandon his presidential ambitions? Finish out his governor term, and then just leave politics? He's good at being chair of the RGA, and he's an O.K. governor, but he's a disaster on looking like a person  of intelligence and integrity who deserves the presidency.

Oh how times have changed for Christie. Going from Republican frontrunner with sky high popularity across the entire political spectrum and the only person to poll competitively with Hillary to this. Barely relevant in the primary polls, and getting curbstomped in the general.

Yeah, as one of the few posters who hasn't entirely written off Christie's chances, I've started to become a lot less certain about his odds. The excuse of not being involved in the wrongdoing of your staff can only work so many times.

I don't think Christie will ever get convicted or even indicted for anything, but there is too much smoke to avoid the label of corrupt. He is also now under water on his NJ favorable ratings. His state has bad unemployment and credit rating.  He is seen as a RINO.  It is hard to see what is his case for nomination

Unless your name is Barack Obama. This excuse has seemed to work fairly well for him.

So appearantly MSNBC is reporting that the US Attorney is denying that there is any investigation regarding this case going on at the moment, and that only an interview took place:
