I'm skeptical of this. Why do you think we should extend the time period, SWE?

I personally dont have a very strong opinion on this matter, but Flo PMed me asking to introduce this for him, so I did. I sent him a PM telling him to make his case here.

I'm inclined to oppose this, but I'll wait to see what Flo has to say.

I believe that people should have a longer time period to change their votes, that's all.

I don't see any real reason to change the 20 minute window, quite frankly. I won't be supporting this.

I think I agree with TNF here.

I'd rather run the risk of people not filling in their ballots correctly than run the risk of voters being intimidated for voting the wrong way.

Yeah, I agree with the consensus... 20 mins is not that difficult.

My opinion as well.

I will vote against this amendment.
There are obviously good intents behind this bill, but I can see many "problems". I mean, if the voter has 2 hours for changing his vote, some people could try to harass him in order to change his vote?

Flo, could you give us some specifics on the situations trying to be fixed? Has there been an instance of twenty minutes not being enough?

Interesting to see such a broad consensus against this, but I must say I agree with the rest of the Senate, two hours is two much and it could create some "undesirable" scenarios. It's evident that all of us can make a mistake when voting, but then again one should always take a careful look at the ballot before and after voting.

Yeah, it's pretty obvious that the Senate has a near unanimous opinion on this, so I'll second the motion.

This has enough votes to fail, senators have 24 hours to change their votes
