I don't support forcing all students, including kindergarteners, to listen to explicit lyrics with negative messages about the police and other Northeast institutions.

Can I offer an amendment for this bill? Otherwise it has my full support

As a Northeast Assemblyman, you can always offer an amendment.

Blair's amendment is friendly. Anyway the intention of this bill is to spur debate, and free thought among the student youth of our region. If anyone else has any suggestions amendment-wise, or any ideas as to greater promotion to fine music in our schools, I'll certainly be open to them.

As a conservative, I naturally strongly oppose efforts to force a left-wing political outlook on the Northeast's schoolchildren; which is what this basically amounts to in my view.

For the nature of free speech I'm sure you could propose an amendment

I'm going to extend debate on this until tomorrow night, seeing as how there are objections.

issue seems to be that there's debate, but Thomas hasn't expanded his views.

I don't think there's any need for debate.  Thomas and I will vote against any bill that teaches kids to hate the police, debases our shared Northeast history, and forces songs with filthy lyrics onto the ears of kindergarteners.  There's no sense trying to amend what we fundamentally oppose.

Let's vote.

By a vote of 3-2, the bill has passed, and will be sent to the governor, for his signature/veto.
