I was on the verge of withdrawing this, but I feel legislators should receive the same pensions as employees of similar pay, so I wanted to do something about it. Current healthcare law should obviously be taken into account.

Sorry, I missed this.  I don't think we should be eliminating pensions for elected officials.  Our legislators and Emperors work hard on behalf of their constituents and deserve a pension just like other government workers.
