More hilarity from "candidate" Huckabee.

For bonus yuks, Huckabee managed to squeeze in some climate change denial in the same interview:

I actually support these statements by Huckabee.  Hopefully, his backers will be emboldened by this and will carry him a long ways in the primary.  I still am supporting Chris Christie over Huckabee, but Huckabee would make a great President.

You voted for Obama twice and were a Democrat as recently as ~6 months ago, and you think that "everything [Obama] does is against what Christians stand for", and that the one group that has his undying support is Muslims?

Facts please. It must be wonderful for someone like Huckabee, with no responsibility or accountability to pass judgement.

Has anyone checked if Huckabee was sloshed when he made these statements? That certainly would explain a lot.

Good to see Bible-believing Christian BushOklahoma takes his faith seriously:

Quick, Huckabee. Which one of the 4 major party nominees for President and VP was a Protestant, like yourself?

Huckabee is trying to out-santorum Santorum.

This. It seems Huckabee isn't running to be elected president so much as for prominence in the Fox News consultant/book sales/speaking tour circuit.

The big problem for the Republicans here is that candidates like Huckabee are going to be spending the primaries promoting their own brand, at the expense of the Republicans' national brand.

Yeah this is asinine. If the best three examples he could give for "Obama being against what Christians stand for" are "being against Jews in Israel", having "unfailing support in the Muslim community", and global warming he needs his head examined. Please refer me to the New Testament passages that refute the greenhouse gas effect and say we must be hated by Muslims.

Say what you want about the Rickster offending people, his comments usually at least make sense.

I swear he used to be mostly sane.
It's truly sad what a few years as a part of the right-wing media machine can turn a person into.

#ThatAwkwardMoment when Mike Huckabee absurdly claims that everything Obama is against what Christians stand for when everything the Republican Party believes is against what Christianity preaches. *insert Gandhi's quote here*

This isn't genuine. Huckabee knows what he's doing. This makes him 50x worse than Santorum, because at least Santorum is genuine about his awfulness.

Mike Huckabee is introducing his own interpretations of what constitutes "Christianity".

The minimal definition of Christianity is to recognize only one God worthy of worship (there might be a demigod-like Devil, but that entity is to be rejected as evil, destructive, and far short of having the Power of God), profoundly good, Creator of the Universe or at least of the fundamental laws that make the Universe possible as it is, that He instructed the ancient Hebrews through their recognized prophets and that the teachings of those prophets are valid until God Almighty invalidates those teachings -- and that Jesus Christ taught some major reforms of Judaism applicable to Humanity as a whole, that Jesus as Son of God died upon the Cross (after basically a lynching), arose from the dead, and offers salvation to those who believe in Him as Son of God even if they cannot or do not adhere to the ritual laws of Judaism. There are no subsequent prophets greater than Jesus.

Although this definition allows for some variety (non-Trinitarian Christians and Mormons) it clearly excludes polytheists, Satan-worshipers, atheists, Jews, Muslims, and Buddhists).

I agree. He said the other day on the Daily Show that he is "planning to" run for President. This matches his book about the "good ol' folk" and his basic populist rhetoric. None of this was coming from him when he ran in 2008. He knows what he is doing and what voter group he is trying to attract, and it is incredibly annoying (just like the voter group he is trying to attract).
