Yea, I'll definitely take the Christmas music from Bushie over the talk that starts with, "Have you been saved?" or the infinitely more inane, "Have you heard the good news?".

Ugh, that reminds me one time, when I was carpooling with a friend, his Dad started interrogating me about the 10 Commandments and telling me I'm a sinner and all that stuff.

When it comes to small talk, why can't people just talk about sports and the weather?

What IT qualifications do you have? that's the real reason I'm calling it bogus.

He has a degree in 'e-commerce' from Northwestern Oklahoma State University.

Does e-commerce involve any of the following?
1. Actual programming/databases/webpage construction
2. Real math courses (at the very least, 2 semesters of calculus)

My guess is no...

I'd LOVE to see Bushie run in my track team at school with our 5-10 mile/day regimen.  He'd get destroyed. Smiley

Knowing Bushie's favorite foods, I think there is only one solution that would work for him..........

STOP EATING BREAD.

Others have said it, but it bears repeating.

Yep. There is no evidence that a low fat, high carb diet causes you to lose weight, but plenty of evidence that a low carb, high fat diet can cause you to lose weight. The grain industry just happens to have a lot of lobbyists, so the government doesn't tell you that. Instead, they include pizza as a "vegetable" on school cafeteria menus.

Bushie  could eat all the burgers, hotdogs, cheese, and fat he wants. If he stops eating pasta, bread, rice, and other processed sugars, he will[/i] lose weight, and fast.

As of now, he won't lose much just not eating fries with his bacon cheeseburgers and only having two hotdogs instead of four. He may drop down to 270 merely because he's eating less calories than usual, but he'll never be healthier doing that.

The thing is, the substitutions are not that hard to make
1. Eat the cheeseburger without the bun (no fries too obviously) and order it with a salad.
2. Eat the hotdogs w/o buns (ideally wrapped in lettuce)
3. For Mexican food, this is a little tougher, but opt for corn tortillas instead of flour and I'd probably just avoid the rice.  If you must eat rice, then opt for whole grain.
4. For pizza, just limit your portion size and supplement with salad.  Thin crust is a must.

When I was hanging out with BRTD yesterday we talked about BushOklahoma. This gave me a terrifying realization that just as BRTD was a real person standing in front of me, Bushie was also a real person out there somewhere. This is terrifying.

Indeed.  I visualize people based on their avatars, and the thought of some posters being real people (ss super flash, bronz, OC, solarstorm2012) is truly horrifying.

Wow, J-Mann, you've deserted me because I'm weak?  You are obviously not a true friend because a true friend would NEVER give up on their friends no matter what.  I think it's time to close the Update as nobody seems to care anymore.  I'll go back to talking politics.  You guys continue to insist you are friends, but you are pathetic friends, at best.

Perhaps you should become friends with healthy food and exercise, so that way you won't give up on them.

Indeed.  How about eating fruits and vegetables instead of junk food all the time?

You've spent more days eating unhealthy than you have eating "healthy" since your diet began.

Not entirely true

Weasel words.  It's obvious you're lying.

What's the 9th commandment again?

RFayette,

I apologize for insulting you and insinuating you are demonic.  It wasn't meant directly toward you as a person, just that series of posts.  I may respond to those posts in time, but I do retract and apologize for calling you demonic.

Apology accepted.  Please take the meat of what I said (not the anger) and consider it thoughtfully.

Thank you.

I'm amazed that somebody who's been to college can be as downright uncomfortable with pot smokers as Bushie apparently is, regardless of whether he personally approves of it or not.

An Oklahoma college town literally inspired the immortalized lyric: "We don't smoke marijuana in Muskogee." It's not that surprising down there.

Yeah, and not even the flagship campus for Bushie, to boot.  My high school likely has more potheads than Northwestern Oklahoma or whatever.

I personally know a lot of stoners, and while they are nice people, I don't want to be like them...........they tend to be very lazy and apathetic.  But Bushie's fear is just crazy.

Everything you just said is correct, and I know how hard it could be. Just remember what someone said pages back. It takes quite awhile to break an addiction (20 days?). I gave up Coke for Lent two years ago when I drank it all the time. Now I can effectively manage it to about two a week.

I know you can do it too if you can withhold cheat days on that (Sunday exceptions were not used by me). Breaking a habit is hard, but it requires focus. It's probably much harder for you with the lack of an obvious alternative, but have you tried anything else? Even stuff like iced tea is marginally better. What about Coke Zero? Switch that in for water now and then. (I presume that's not too bad. Haven't heard much about it.)

The first step in breaking an addiction is admitting there is an addiction.

So are you ready to try my soda challenge? No soda period on Mondays. Only water.

Yes. No more soda on Mondays. He may have the occasional Sunkist or Root Beer, but no more Coke products!

LOL.

Bushie I have a plan for you, Biblical style:

bushie, when employed, do you drink a lot of soda on the job?

we have an obese at my place of work who goes through (at least) a 2 liter of mango soda during his 4 hour work shifts.

Half the reason fats are fats in this country is the obscene amount of sugar they digest which tells their poor bodies to store all that fat they eat.  First we condition kids to love sweet drinks through the Juicy Juice and whatnot because we think the vitamin benefits outweigh the sugar (they don't) and then they grow up to be like Bushie and normal water becomes unpalatable.  I'm someone who was raised on lots of juice but luckily my metabolism is very, very high.  To this day I don't particularly like to drink plain water most of the time, but I instead take a glass of water and splash a bit of juice in it for a little flavor, which is all I need.  Bushie's sweet tooth has gotten to the point that it seems only soda will give him that massive amount of sugar he needs.

Sad, but it's the result of a country with a sick and disgusting diet.  We probably need some nanny state action, but for our gaggle of stupid ***** even Michelle Obama merely recommending a vegetable other than pizza is too much socialism for them to take.

Honestly, just telling people to drink low-cal flavored water like Propel is a good start.

I think health activists can be too Puritanical with stuff.......diet soda and flavored water will likely get more takers than pure water, at least to start.
