Can anyone think of another series that had a season comparable to last? It dragged a lot through most of the season and was full of filler episodes and recycled plotlines...but had one hell of a conclusion.

Utah story arc/season(s) of Update itself are comparable.

This is the first time that I will be keeping up with a whole season of update. I believe that I'm ready for the ride.

Welcome aboard the (diabetes) train!

The Utah arc wasn't really the same though. It was just really boring and the plot never really went anywhere for the most part. Season 2 of The Walking Dead I guess is kind of comparable to it.

Heh. I never made it through season 2 of The Walking Dead myself. Definitely too boring.

So September 11th, 2001 isn't even a trumpet? Shocking.

^^^^
It's been a few days since we had any dinner updates, so I assume the "diet" is RIP.

The diet is not RIP, although it is on a break for the next 72 hours.  I will resume it when I get back to Tulsa Monday evening.

So it's only in effect when you're within the Tulsa city limits?

Convenient considering that Papa is about to cut him off and send him back to the train room.

Possible title for next season: "Back to the Train Room."

Bushie, let me make this clear.

You make pathetic choices.  You are given plenty of advice, yet you ignore all of it.

You come from a very privileged upbringing.  You have loving parents, a college degree, a car, and plenty of financial support.  You get plenty of advice from us for how to improve yourself, yet it is all for nought.

Everything you do is a fiasco.  You use religion as a shield to cover up your own pathetic life choices.

God would not be happy with the fact that you lie, defraud your parents, and live a life of sin (gluttony).  The Bible says that NO CHRISTIAN WILL LIVE IN SIN (1 John 3:9).

Bushie, by your own religious book, you WILL GO TO HELL IF YOU DIED TODAY.

Your eating habits are GLUTTONOUS (not to mention all the other frauds you've commited.  I'm not judging you.  YOUR RELIGIOUS TEXT IS.  Gluttony's a sin, plain as day (probably moreso than homosexuality).  And you continually partake in that sin with no repentance or contrition.  Not to mention your pattern of lying and extortion (mooching off of your parents), and the Bible says that liars will have no place in the Kingdom of God (1 Corinthians 6:9)

I am not an Evangelical Bushie, but using its interpretation of the Bible it is pretty clear you are not saved.

EDIT:  This may seem harsh, but I really think you need a major wake-up call.  I detest Evangelical theology, but since Bushie subscribes to it, he needs a dose of his own medicine.

That doesn't scare me.

It's not about scaring you, Bushie.  I'm trying to point out your hypocrisy in claiming you are saved by your religion when your own text says you are not.

The point is this:  you believe the Bible so much that you would reject basic science (such as the Big Bang Theory and evolution) because the Bible says so.

The Bible also says that no true Christian can live a life of continual sin.  Check out the Bible verses I sent you.  A Christian that is living in sin surely is not saved based on your religious text.

Explain YOUR interpretations of the verses I cited if they don't mean what they clearly say.

My faith is on solid ground.  On Christ the Solid Rock I stand.  All other ground is sinking sand.  I am secure enough in my faith that I do not believe a word you said.  Your post is just Satan trying to twist Scripture to convince me I am going to hell.  Wrong buster.  I am saved by faith through grace and not based on my works.  You apparently didn't read the passages about grace.  When Jesus died on the cross, his last words were "It is finished."  This means my sin debt, past, present and future is PAID IN FULL.  I can never do a single thing again to lose my salvation.  Once He saved me, I cannot EVER lose my salvation no matter what I do.  That's not my words.  The Southern Baptists believe in Once Saved, Always Saved.  I adhere to that wholeheartedly and I believe that is the correct view.  If I died right now, I have no doubt I would be entering the pearly gates of heaven where I will find Jesus waiting for me with open arms and utter the words "Well done, my good and faithful servant.  You have been faithful over a few things, I will put you in charge over many things in my Kingdom.  Enter thou into the joy of the LORD!".   I have no doubt and nobody can convince me otherwise, so they might as well stop.

Now I'm imaging Bushie being "in charge over many things" in heaven. Good lord indeed!

Bushie is still essentially a child. The idea of growing up scares him - a lot.

I suppose I can relate to him in some ways but he tends to take this whole "forever young" thing to bizarre extremes.

For instance, why is a single 32-year-old man who has no children still regularly attending kiddie parties? I'm sure his appearance at those gatherings makes everyone super uncomfortable.

Is there anything finer than having a flashback memory of great old Bushie post and then finding it and reading it and having a good ol' chuckle again?

Like his plan to take his new girlfriend on a date to go see the G-rated kids film Fly Me to the Moon. Sexy.

My girlfriend and I are going on a double date this Friday to see Fly Me to the Moon.  Its just a simple animated G-rated movie (something my generation won't even touch), only 95 minutes long, but we're looking forward to it.  Its in Dolby-Digital 3D.

jesus

I don't even remember my theater carrying that kiddie movie.

19% on Rotten Tomatoes btw. lol.

Jeff, did you enjoy Fly Me To The Moon? I'm not really sure how a grown man could sit through that (at least without drinking heavily).

I think we ended up seeing a different movie "Journey to the Center of the Earth".  It's been 6 1/2 years so it's a little fuzzy, but I remember Journey, but not the other.

I actually remember that one!

Did you text Allison tonight?

Update on Allison:  We are back to being good friends.  She was in Tulsa yesterday for a doctor's appointment and she called and asked if she could stop by for a few minutes.  I was happy to have her over.  We visited about several things for about 30 minutes including a non-profit business that she is trying to start up and obtain a 501 (3) (c) status on it.  She wants me to hop on board with her handling the social media platform as kind of a second job from my regular job.  It is a side business for her and she is keeping her job at the university because of the health insurance.  She doesn't have the luxury of Indian Health Care.  I need more information on the business before I go into it with her, such as what it does, but it is a nice gesture at the very least.

This sounds like a truly fantastic potential storyline! Bravo!

You can't get drunk on 3.2%. Well, I guess you could but you'd have to drink a hell of a lot of that piss water.

And, for the record, I am not opposed to alcohol.  I'm just opposed to excessive drinking and getting drunk.  I'm also opposed to people burning their family's paycheck on beer instead of (junk) food or (premium cable/porn) bills.  I, myself, like to enjoy a glass of wine every now and then.  I haven't had any since July 2013 because I am of the belief that if I have a drink then I cannot drive the rest of the day and since I am often by myself, then I cannot indulge in a drink.  I have no problem with any of my friends having controlled drinks just so long as they don't get drunk and embarrass themselves or their family.  That said, I never condemn anybody if they do get drunk nor do I call them out, because I do things that are just as bad.

Fixed that for you.

These idiots are not representative of the State of Oklahoma.  Nobody should ever equate these fools with the sentiments of Oklahoma citizens.  To make that comparison would be just as stupid as what these flimwads did.

They are Oklahoma citizens.

Don't be an idiot.

Says the guy who once said that "there are no racists in Oklahoma".

I have no doubt in my mind that a large % of Oklahomans would be against banning this frat due to this incident. Maybe PPP can poll that at some point.

What's interesting, but not surprising, is that the SAE is also apparently affecting Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, as well.  According to reports, an SAE member there has had a confederate flag hanging up in his dorm room.  No doubt OSU's President Burns Hargis will pay attention to that now that OU is having to deal with this embarrassment of a fraternity.

Yep. Definitely no racists in Oklahoma...

Gonna shut this one down now. I'll be busy over the next few days.

(Honestly, I've hardly read Update at all lately... hope I'm not missing out on anything too important.)
